Wine Tasting Event | April 12, 2023

The WIAD community came together for a wine tasting event with Brett Taylor, Wine Advisor at Martine’s Wines and Founder of wine concierge business Essential Wine Services. Brett is a true expert in the field who will source the wines for the group and lead us in an incredible wine tasting.

During the event we heard from our featured guest, Neha Khoda, Managing Director and Head of Global Loan Strategy at Bank of America Global Research.


Private Debt Investor New York Forum | September 21-22, 2022
Women’s Breakfast | September 21, 2022

The Private Debt Investor New York Forum, took place on September 21-22, 2022. It provided members with the unique opportunity to network with the most influential fund managers and institutional investors in the private debt industry. WIAD co-sponsored a women’s breakfast on September 21 to kick off the conference.

At the conference, members heard from leading private debt professionals about the most pressing topics for 2022 and beyond, including responsible lending and ESG due diligence, emerging trends and opportunities, and the most viable sectors to drive returns for the year.

Conquering Imposter Syndrome | July 22, 2021

WIAD hosted a virtual conversation entitled “Conquering Imposter Syndrome”. Impostor Syndrome, or the fear of being underqualified or undeserving, disproportionately affects women and underrepresented voices in the corporate space. This event will interrogate Impostor Syndrome and explore tangible strategies for elevating women's voices, confidence and success across industries and diversity dimensions. This conversation will be facilitated by Giselle King, FDNY firefighter; Kristin Ogdon, Director of Industry Partnerships & Engagement at Microsoft; Annie Williams, Paralympic Gold medalist and corporate lawyer; Sarah Lux-Lee, Founder and CEO of Mindr; Kristine Jurczyk, Managing Director at Vista Equity Partners; and Pippa Bond, Partner at Kirkland & Ellis.


WIAD Virtual Wine Tasting | May 27, 2021

Women in Alternative Debt hosted a virtual wine tasting event featuring “Wine Girl” Victoria James.

Private investor debt cfos & coos forum | june 11-12, 2019

The Forum is the premier venue for in-house financial and operational professionals to hear best practices and industry developments from a wide spectrum of private debt industry peers.

The day and a half program featured insights from senior financial, operational, tax, accounting and compliance officers at private debt funds managing BDCs, private credit, distressed investment, and senior lending strategies.

They discussed the complexities of managing the finance and operations of firms that invest across the capital structure including senior secured loans, subordinated debt, hybrid financing and more.

SPECIAL WORKSHOP: “Is it Just Me?” Recognizing & Overcoming Unconscious Bias at Work with Michelle Friedman | November 2, 2018

In this interactive and experiential workshop, we sought to develop a greater understanding of what unconscious gender bias is, how women (and men) can be negatively impacted, and what we can do to build successful careers despite it. We explored common workplace scenarios where gender bias appears and delve into a 4-step framework women can implement to react in the moment as well as proactively inoculate themselves against bias in the future.

This event featured an off-the-record, women-led roundtable session, followed by a networking break, where delegates had the opportunity to debate the state of the market in a private and more informal setting. 

The roundtable featured a free-flowing discussion led by an expert moderator. Topics included:

  • Pros and cons for investors considering putting capital to work in private debt.

  • Decoding the asset class – common learning curves investors should be aware of.

  • Priorities for LPs: a discussion around returns, fees and transparency, manager selection, and more.

PDI CFOs & COOs Forum | June 20-21, 2018

Invite-only networking breakfast co-hosted by supporting association Women in Alternative Credit Association and Private Debt Investor. A closed-door roundtable and networking breakfast led by some of the most influential women in private credit. These female industry veterans facilitated a wider discussion addressing issues, expertise and insight for women in private credit.
